John Barnes Elementary School

Mrs. Eppich's Classroom

Our behavior management program is called PBIS. Students who follow school wide expectations (respectful, responsible, safe) are rewarded with Rams Rewards. Rams Rewards are collected each week, and a few students are chosen to win classroom prizes as well as bigger prices at our assemblies. Classroom awards are also given out each week to the most well behaved class in the hallway, at specials, at lunch and lunch recess, and at morning arrival.

Students who do not follow expectations may receive checks. The first check signals as a warning to change that behavior. If a student earns a second warning in the same day, they will complete a Think Sheet. A third warning will result in parent contact and further consequences.

To help keep track of student behavior, we are using Class Dojo. Students earn points for following expectations and lose points when they are off task. Rams Rewards are given based on points earned each week.

Students can receive up to 4 checks and still attend the PBIS parties. If they receive a fifth check, they cannot attend. Students with 0-1 checks for the ENTIRE year will earn VIP status at the last party!
