Homework

Homework is a way to build responsibility and accountability in our students in their education outside of the classroom. It is a chance to practice skills and increase understanding of concepts taught in class. We will write HW in our planner.

Students will create Home Links packets at the beginning of each unit and are expected to complete the assigned page each day. Packets should be brought back to school daily to be checked; keep the packet in your Take-Home Folder.

Students are strongly encouraged to read every day. Books may be borrowed from the classroom to support this! I will send home a Reading Log. When it is completed the student may turn it in to receive a raffle ticket. At the end of every month I will pull a raffle ticket to reward a student with lunch of their choice with the teacher. Students will not be penalized for not completed the Reading Log.

Students may occasionally have Writing assignments or other unfinished work as homework, too.

Homework Club

If a student does not complete their HW they will be taken out of homework club and miss their second recess. Each week if a student stays in HW club they will get to enter a raffle for the lunch with the teacher.

To escape HW club the following day they will have to fill out a ‘no HW form’ and staple it to their planner, get it signed by a parent/guardian, and return it the following day stapled to their COMPLETED missing homework from the previous day
