This week is the culmination of “An Apple for Ryan” food drive, an annual event to honor the memory of FRCHS student Ryan Sergent. After his tragic health related death during Cross Country practice (October 9^, 1997), the next year Ryan’s mother, family, and friends began the food drive to continue Ryan’s passion for helping the less fortunate of our Downriver communities. Classrooms have collected canned food, non-perishable goods, toiletries, and cleaning products in their first hours. At the end of this week the donations will be taken to the Woodhaven Kiwanis for distribution to local food pantries.
